You crimped Cat5 with linesman pliers for a year? That's wild. Sageross is right about the Klein tool, but man, that's some serious dedication to the hard way.

My buddy at the tech shop told me he used regular pliers for months too. Totally get why @sageross swears by that Klein crimper now.
