I thought those cheap wireless door sensors from that online store were junk until last month

A buddy of mine in Austin needed a quick fix for a rental property and bought a 10 pack for like 30 bucks. He asked me to help put them in, and I figured they'd fail in a week or just have a terrible range. We installed them, and I was ready for the false alarms. It's been six weeks now, and the system hasn't missed a single open/close. The battery check is still good, and they survived a pretty big Texas thunderstorm. I'm not saying I'm switching all my jobs to them, but for a basic add-on or a temp setup, they actually work. Has anyone else had a decent run with a super budget part they totally expected to fail?

Totally get that surprise when cheap stuff works.

My neighbor grabbed a no-name garage door opener remote from a gas station for fifteen bucks after his broke. The plastic felt like a toy and the buttons were mushy. That thing has worked every single day for almost two years now, through rain and freezing cold. I keep waiting for it to die but it just won't.

Masonbell's remote is the same deal, right?
