Just hit 50 false alarm calls from that new Vista 20p panel in the last quarter

I installed a bunch of them in the new condos over on Maple Drive, and the motion sensor sensitivity is way too high out of the box. Had to go back and adjust the pulse count on every single one, which ate up a whole afternoon. Anyone else run into this with the latest firmware batch?

Tell me about it. I spent a whole week chasing ghosts in a model home before I figured it out. The curtains from the AC were setting it off every afternoon. Felt like a real genius explaining that to the client. That default setting is just broken for any normal living space. You'd think they'd test these things somewhere that isn't a perfect empty box.

Wasn't there a tech bulletin about this exact thing? I heard from a guy over at the supply house that the latest firmware ships with a default pulse count that's way too low for most spaces. He said it's fine for a huge, empty warehouse but terrible for a normal room with air vents or a pet. Makes total sense why you'd get so many false alarms. That default setting is just asking for trouble.

Classic case of engineers never leaving the lab. They probably test it in a room with no air moving at all. We get to be the real world beta testers, I guess.
