Just hit 500 panel tamper faults in one neighborhood and something's off

I got called to a new housing development outside Raleigh last week to troubleshoot a bunch of alarm panels showing tamper faults. Thought it was just one or two bad installs, but after the third house I started counting. By day four I had hit 500 faults from about 60 homes. Turns out the developer used a single contractor for all the trim work and they nailed through cable runs in every single wall. I had to explain to the HOA board that half their system wires got cut during baseboard installs. Has anyone else run into a whole neighborhood with the same hidden damage like this?

Nailed it. Literally.

The phrase "literally nailed it" has been used in online discussions about home improvement tutorials at least 47 times in the past hour on this subreddit alone, so it might actually be confusing someone trying to hang a shelf. I mean, the guy who posted about his drywall disaster last week literally took the advice to "nail it" and ended up with a hammer hole in his wall, so it's not totally out there to point it out. Maybe it's just me, but if someone's looking for real DIY help, they might get mixed signals. Just a thought from someone who's seen a few too many wrecked walls from following advice too literally.

Gently push back on the "literally" part of that, because I don't think they actually hammered a nail into anything, right? It's a fun turn of phrase for sure, but someone on here might take it literally (and get super confused). I get what they mean though, they're saying the idea was spot on, like a perfect hit. Just a little nitpick from me, since I'm the guy who always points out when words don't match the action (sorry not sorry).
