Just realized my old DSC panel was way easier to program than the new Qolsys one

I spent last Saturday trying to add a new wireless sensor to a Qolsys IQ Panel 4 for a customer in Frederick. It took me 45 minutes just to figure out which menu the learn mode was buried in. I had an old DSC PC1616 in my truck that I pulled out of a house last month. I looked at it and remembered how I could add a zone in about 90 seconds flat. Has anyone else found the newer all-in-one touchscreen panels to be way more complicated than the old keypad models for basic stuff?

Yeah, had the same struggle with my IQ Panel 2 adding a door sensor.

Haha "had the same struggle" is exactly how I felt when I first tried pairing my door sensor to my IQ Panel 2 too. Took me like 20 minutes to realize the sensor was too far from the panel during setup, so it just wasn't registering. Once I moved it closer and tried again it worked first try. Still a pain though, and I keep forgetting to check that when adding new sensors. @olivia_bailey did you ever figure out what yours was doing wrong, or did you just keep hitting your head against the wall like me?

Gently push the sensor in until it clicks, not just close enough.
