That moment I realized my wire strippers were the problem

I spent 5 years blaming the cheap alarm cable for nicking the conductors every time. Turns out my Klein strippers had a tiny burr on the blade that I never even checked. A buddy in Phoenix pointed it out after I complained about a bad zone on a DSC panel. Has anyone else gone through something like this with a basic tool that just wore out on you?

Hit the blade with a fine file next time instead of replacing them.

Three passes with a file and you're back in business... way cheaper than a new saw.

A file is fine for a quick touch up but honestly some blades just aren't worth saving. Once you file them a couple times you lose the set in the teeth and they start binding and burning through the cut. I'd rather just grab a fresh Diablo blade for $20 and know its gonna cut straight for the next month. Files are great in a pinch but they're not a replacement for a good blade that's been heat treated right from the factory.
