That old wiring in a 1970s house near Denver almost killed my multimeter
Ran a service call on a split-level built in 1974 last week. Owner claimed the panel was updated, but I found 12-gauge aluminum still running to three bedrooms. Measured 18 volts phantom on a neutral line, which is insane. Anyone else still running into this stuff or am I just unlucky?

Old houses just keep finding new ways to scare you.

Oh man, old houses definitely have a way of keeping things interesting. My place has this closet door that creaks open on its own no matter how many times I push it shut, so I just gave up and started joking that my ghost roommate is just messy. Honestly, I'm probably the scarier roommate since I can't even keep the lights working half the time.

@rodriguez.diana nailed it - old houses are full of surprises. That phantom voltage sounds like a real headache. Stay safe out there.
