The cheap wireless sensor I mocked turned out to be the most reliable one on my board

Back in March I put in a budget 2GIG sensor at a rent house in Austin because the owner refused to pay for the good stuff. I figured I'd be back there in a month swapping it out. That thing has not sent a single false alarm in four months, while two of the expensive ones from the same brand have needed new batteries already. Has anyone else found that the budget line is sometimes built tougher, or did I just get a lucky batch?

Ran a similar test a few years back with some cheap motion sensors at a couple of rentals. I was sure I'd be replacing them within the month, but those little guys just kept working, no issues at all. Meanwhile, the pricey ones from the same brand were the ones giving me headaches with false triggers and dead batteries. I think sometimes the cheaper models just have simpler parts that are harder to break, you know? Could be we both got lucky, but I stopped doubting the budget stuff after that.
