The tech who told me my zone map was useless on a 22 zone job in Reno
I was wiring up a 22 zone panel in a house in Reno last spring and handed the homeowner my zone map, proud of it. The tech training me looked it over and said nobody could read it but me. He was right. Every label was something like 'front area' or 'back room' and I could not tell you which door set off zone 14 if you asked. I redid the whole thing with room names and door numbers that week. Now I write them like 'kitchen sliding door' or 'garage entry,' and my call backs for false alarms dropped a lot. Anyone else get called out on their labels early on?
