Oh man, that's rough. Those rate limiting tools can be real finicky, they try to solve one problem and end up creating three more. I've seen setups where the tool was too aggressive and started blocking legit traffic, which made everything grind to a halt. Did you get a chance to roll back to the previous state before the config changes?
