My climbing rope hit 500 feet of use and I had to retire it

I was logging my gear checks and realized my main line had seen that much action across three seasons. It's a weird feeling to trust something with your life and then hit a hard number that says it's done. What's your go-to sign that a piece of gear is truly finished?

Hold up, you retired it just for the distance? So you don't even check for sheath fuzz or core shots? What's the actual condition that made you bin it?

You think I know what a core shot is, danielmason?

Wait, 500 feet is just distance traveled, not a real wear metric. The age and how it was used matters way more.
