That time a past due pruning job paid off double
Had a 50 foot white oak over a customer's deck in Portland that I kept putting off because the climb looked sketchy after all that ice last winter. Finally tackled it last Tuesday with a pole saw and a rope system, found a huge crack hidden under some ivy that would have split right onto their patio. Anyone else ever find something nasty on a tree you almost skipped?

Ivy hides a lot of damage, always peel it back before you commit to a climb. Good catch, that could've been a rough phone call.
