Vent: Just realized I've climbed over 500 trees in the last two years
I was cleaning out my work truck and found my old climbing log from when I started my own crew. Flipped through it and did a rough count, and it came out to something like 530 trees since spring of '22. Mostly in the Springfield area. It just hit me how much wear that is on a body, you know? How do you guys track your climbs, or do you even bother?

Just hit me how much wear that is on a body" is so true. Read an article a while back about arborist joint stress. They said a single climb can put forces equal to several times your body weight on knees and hips. Multiply that by 500. Makes my own back ache just thinking about it.

Tell me about it, @bens81, my knees are shot.

But what if that wear is just building a stronger body? I knew a guy who worked construction his whole life and at 70 he could still lift more than most young guys. Maybe 500 climbs means your joints are just toughened up from real work, not worn down.
