Watched a climber drop a top cut onto a fence in Tulsa and now I check my lay twice before every cut
Was doing a removal off a red oak last Tuesday and the guy next to me sent his top straight into a customer's vinyl fence, about 12 feet of it folded like paper. Since then I walk my lay out loud before every cut and it's saved me twice already, once on a leaning pine. Anybody else pick up a weird habit after watching somebody else's bad day?
My buddy dropped a whole limb through a shed roof last summer and now he carries a little chalk line in his pouch to mark his lay every time. Watched him do it on a tiny maple LOL. Guess that fence folding like paper stuck with him too.
