My cousin argued the pyramids were built by aliens at a family BBQ last summer
He was going on about how the stones were too heavy for people to move, right there in my backyard in Toledo. I tried to explain the ramp systems and water transport they've found at sites like Giza, but he just waved it off and said 'they didn't have cranes back then'. It's frustrating when people ignore the actual work of archaeologists. Has anyone else had to deal with a friend or family member who just won't listen to the evidence?

That crane comment is a classic one... like @tarag28's uncle with the moon landing. Thing is, they did have simple machines, just not like ours. Levers, ropes, and a whole lot of people working together. The water transport idea is pretty cool, floating stones on canals. Makes more sense than aliens who forgot to leave their tools behind.
