That moment my metal detector showed a signal near a Roman fort site in Wales
I was out last Saturday near Caerleon, and my detector started screaming over what I thought was a coin hoard. Dug down about 18 inches and pulled up a rusty tractor hitch from the 1950s. Anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on modern junk?

Dont forget that tractor hitch could be way OLDER than the 1950s. Farmers used to dump old gear everywhere near those Roman sites. Maybe you found something that belonged to a Victorian-era farm that was sitting on top of Roman stuff.
