That old petroglyph site near Moab had weird scratches that don't look like any native art I've seen

I was out at the Birthing Rock panel and spotted a cluster of straight line carvings that seem too precise for stone tools, has anyone else run into unusual marks that might be older or from a different group?

Wait, did you get any photos of those straight line carvings? Were they grouped in a pattern or just scattered around the rock face?

oh man @terrybennett YES i got a ton of them. the ones i saw were all in a cluster, like someone deliberately scratched them into a smooth part of the rock in a neat little grid pattern. not scattered at all, super weird. reminded me of those old tally marks you see in caves but way straighter and deeper. i was out at that spot near the creek last fall and stumbled on a whole panel of them, maybe 15 or 20 lines all running parallel. creeped me out a bit honestly.
