Watched a dig site shift overnight in Death Valley and it still bothers me
I was out near the old mining camp last November and saw these rock patterns that looked totally stable, then came back the next morning after a flash flood and the whole layout had slid three feet downhill. The water basically rearranged thousands of years of natural stratigraphy in a few hours. Has anyone else seen a site get wrecked like that by weather?

Damn that's wild! I can barely keep my couch from sliding around when I watch a movie marathon, Mother Nature out here rearranging whole landscapes like it's nothing lmao.

Is it really that serious though? People act like earthquakes are the end of the world but most of them are just a little shaking. You see it on the news and everyone panics but 99% of the time it's just a mild tremor. We get a few cracks in the drywall and suddenly it's a disaster. I've lived through a few and barely noticed until someone mentioned it. Feels like everyone overhypes nature's little hiccups.

Totally agree, I once slept through one thinking it was my cat knocking stuff over until my roommates freaked out.
