A casual chat at the Chandler Chamber mixer showed me the real value of just listening.
I met a solar installer there who, after I simply asked about his biggest hurdle, spent twenty minutes explaining supply chain delays, and that detailed problem gave me three solid leads to pass his way from my own contacts.

Biggest hurdle" is always the right question to ask.

Ever notice how the best conversations happen when you stop trying to sell or solve and just let someone talk? I've found that asking about a specific snag, like a broken process, always gets you way further than a generic "how's business.

Totally agree with that... I started asking a guy "what's the one thing that slows you down every single day" and he talked for like twenty minutes straight. Turned into a real conversation instead of that awkward back and forth where nobody says anything real. It's crazy how just shifting from "how can I help" to "what's actually bugging you" changes everything.
