A guy at a Scottsdale meetup told me my elevator pitch was too long

He said I was giving a full presentation instead of a quick intro, which made people zone out. I cut it down to just my name, what I do, and one specific result, like 'I help local shops get 20% more online orders.' Has anyone else gotten blunt feedback that actually helped?

Yeah, that blunt feedback is a gift. It forces you to find the one thing that makes someone lean in. The real test is if they ask a follow up question.

Ever notice how the best feedback cuts through the noise? Heard a podcast say it's about finding the signal in the static. @foster.charles is right, that follow-up question shows you hit the mark.

Sometimes it's just a simple yes or no though.
