Oh man, I've been there... it's so frustrating when you think you're making real connections and half the room just wants to grab your clients. First thing I'd do is start tracking who actually follows up with value versus who just pitches right away. If someone asks for your contact list on the first meeting, that's a huge red flag. You could also bring a trusted referral partner as a guest to scope it out before you commit more time there. Honestly, I'd start a small spin-off group with just the 3 or 4 genuine people from that group who actually care about building real relationships. Saves you from wasting hours with people who don't actually want to help you grow.
