Had a total lightbulb moment at that Scottsdale mixer last Thursday
Honestly, I was just grabbing a drink when I overheard a guy say 'your network is your real office here'. Ngl, I stopped chasing cold leads and just started asking people in the room for one warm intro instead. Anyone else find their best connections come from just talking to the person next to you?

Yeah, totally get what you mean. Had the same thing happen at a small tech meetup in Austin. I was about to leave, but this guy next to me started talking about a project he was working on. Turned out he was looking for someone with my exact background. We traded info, and two weeks later I had a solid lead on a new gig. That one chat beat five months of cold emails easy.

Totally agree, read somewhere that warm intros are like ten times more likely to land than cold calls.

Wait, only ten times? That seems way too low, honestly. I've seen cold calls go absolutely nowhere for months. If a friend hooks you up, you're basically already in the door. Should be like a hundred times more likely, easy.
