Met a guy at a Chandler coffee shop who said networking events are a waste of time and now I'm not so sure

Oh man, that's such a mixed bag honestly. I had a friend who went to one of those big downtown Phoenix mixer things and ended up getting a solid referral from someone he barely talked to for two minutes because they remembered his company name later. @jordan_young it really does feel like a total crapshoot sometimes though, some events are just full of people passing out business cards and nothing else comes from it.
