My $450 trade show booth spot in Phoenix taught me that handing out flyers is a waste
Everyone at the Arizona Business Networking meetup in Tempe keeps telling me to work the big trade shows, but I did that and it burned me. I paid $450 for a tiny booth spot at a Phoenix expo two years ago, printed 500 flyers, and talked to maybe 60 people all day. Zero of them turned into real connections, but the two guys who stopped by just to complain about the parking lot are still in my contacts and one of them sent me actual work. I think the mixer down the street with 20 people and bad coffee beats any convention floor, and I'm not changing my mind on that. Has anyone here actually landed a client from a big booth that paid off what it cost?
