Ran into a guy named Dave at the Tucson Coffee Connection meetup last month
He walked up to me mid-conversation and handed me his card without even saying hello first. I almost brushed him off but then he said 'you're the firefighter who spoke about logistics, right?' and he was spot on about a problem I had with vendor scheduling. Has anyone else had a cold approach like that turn into a real business connection?

My buddy had some investor guy literally chase him into an elevator at a conference.

Last year at a tech meetup in Austin, I saw this guy chase after a founder who was literally trying to hide behind a plant. It wasn't even subtle - he just bulldozed through a group of people to corner the kid. That whole scene gives startups a bad name, like you can't have a normal conversation without someone trying to shove money down your throat. Investors need to chill out and remember founders are people, not prey.
