Showerthought: drove to Tucson for a 8am mixer and 9 people showed up, felt like a total bust
Woke up at 5:30am last Tuesday to make the drive down to a networking breakfast at the Arizona Inn in Tucson, and I was one of maybe 9 people in the room. I paid $25 for cold eggs and heard the same 30 second pitch from a guy selling solar three times. Has anyone else noticed the smaller out of town events just aren't worth the gas, or did I just pick a bad morning?
Wondering if the real issue is that Tuesday morning mixers just pull a different crowd than the weekday evening ones. Most people who'd actually drive out to Tucson for networking are probably already working at 8am on a Tuesday. Try a Thursday happy hour version of the same event and see if the same room fills up.
