That moment when I actually followed up with a lead from a Chandler coffee meetup
I've been going to these casual networking meetups in Chandler for about a year now, and I always collected business cards but never really did much with them. Last month I decided to try something different. I picked one person I talked to, a real estate agent named Mark, and I sent him a personalized email within 24 hours mentioning exactly what we discussed about his challenges with first-time home buyers. I also brought up a specific resource I promised to share. To my surprise, he replied in two hours and we set up a lunch meeting that ended with him referring me to two of his clients who needed my home inspection service. The trick was just following up fast and being specific instead of sending a generic 'nice to meet you' message. Has anyone else found that the timing of your follow-up makes or breaks the connection?

Oh man, same thing happened to me when I actually followed up within a few hours of a meetup instead of waiting. I thought being "strategic" about waiting a day or two made me look less desperate, but all it did was let the conversation go cold. Now I just fire off a quick message the same night while I still remember the details and it's night and day how often people actually respond.

Tbh that timing thing is real because people forget you fast if you wait more than a day.

Figured you were just making excuses but I went back and checked my own posts. Sure enough the ones I sat on for days barely got any replies while the same day ones had actual conversations. Timing matters more than I wanted to admit.
