Finally fixed my shop's air compressor after 3 months of band-aids
My little 60 gallon compressor kept short-cycling and blowing the thermal overload. I replaced the pressure switch once, then the unloader valve, still kept tripping. Turns out the check valve was sticking and holding tank pressure against the pump head, so the motor fought itself every start. Swapped in a $35 check valve kit from the local supply house last Saturday, and it's been running smooth for 5 straight days now. Anyone else had a stupid little part cause a big headache like that?
