PSA: My water heater's plastic drain valve cracked at 11pm on a Sunday and I had 3 inches of water in my garage by morning
Heard a hiss from the garage Saturday night and figured it was just the fridge, so I went to bed, and woke up to my shop vac floating next to my table saw. The valve was a cheap plastic one the builder put in back in 2009, and a plumber quoted me $420 to swap it to brass plus $180 for the water damage. Did I get hosed on that price, or is that just what it runs these days?
