After three attempts, my gallery wall looks like a toddler arranged it
I spent hours measuring and marking where to put the nails. I used a level and everything seemed perfect. But when I stepped back, all the frames were crooked. One is higher on the left, another tilts to the right. I even tried those adhesive strips that claim to hold anything, but they fell off overnight. Now I have holes in the wall and nothing to show for it. I'm about to give up and just leave them as is.

Have you ever borrowed a laser level for a project? I tried one when hanging a big clock in my living room, marked the spot perfectly with it. But after mounting the bracket, the clock sat crooked because the wall itself wasn't flat. Now I just hang things by feel and live with them being a little off.

The wall not being flat thing really hits home (my place is full of those surprises). It's like how we rely on tech for accuracy, but real life is always a bit off.

Actually the tech shows you where to shim.
