Comparison check: I tried cheap quick connects vs brass ones and the cheap ones leaked after 3 days
Bought a pack of 4 brass quick connects for $18 after the $6 steel ones from Home Depot started dripping on day 2, anyone else notice the cheap fittings just don't hold up?

Man I used to be one of those guys who'd grab the cheap ones every time, figured brass was just a ripoff. But after swapping out a set of those steel quick connects on my own setup at home, yeah, I get it now. The cheap ones just don't seal right especially if the pressure fluctuates even a little. That brass fitting feels solid in your hand and actually holds the line, so that extra $12 is probably saving you a headache later.

Did you notice any difference in how often you had to retighten or adjust the cheap fittings before they stopped leaking? I keep going back and forth on whether the time wasted messing with them is worth the savings, but it sounds like you found out the hard way. Really curious if the brass ones just worked out of the box with no fiddling.
