Hit 500 rep streak and felt nothing
After 2 years of daily posting and answering, I finally got to 500 reputation points on a forum. I thought I'd feel accomplished or something, but I just stared at the screen for a minute. The milestone felt hollow because most of my good answers got buried under joke posts. Does anyone else hit a milestone and realize the grind wasn't worth it?

I mean, isn't the real value in helping people and learning stuff, not just watching a number go up?

The hollow feeling probably comes from realizing the site gamified you more than you gamified it. Those points matter to the system, not to your actual growth as a person.

Hit 500 rep and my reward was existential dread. Guess I'll frame the screenshot next to my participation trophies.
