Managed to finish a short story I've been picking at for ages.
It's not polished, but having a full draft is a win. How do you all handle editing without losing momentum?

My last draft sat untouched for four weeks. I found that distance made editing way more effective than jumping right in. Do you step away from your work first?

Totally get that, @cameron_bell11, my drafts need a full year before I even remember writing them.

Heard that "kill your darlings" advice really works when you step back like @cameron_bell11 said. Fresh eyes make those cuts way less painful.
