Spent 2 hours fighting a tangled tape measure before I found the 'rewind slowly' trick

I was out in the garage last Saturday trying to measure a 12 foot cut for some shelving and that stupid tape kept kinking up every time I pressed the button, so after 2 hours of frustration I finally realized if I guide it back by hand instead of letting it snap it works perfect, has anyone else had a tool that only worked right after you stopped rushing?

Bought a framing nailer that jammed until I slowed down.
