That $50 waterproof bag I bought almost sank my phone in the Boundary Waters

Bought a cheap dry bag off Amazon for my canoe trip last summer, thought it was fine until day 3 when my sleeping bag came out soaked. Cost me $50 and nearly ruined a $400 sleeping bag, plus I had to cut the trip short. Ended up spending $120 on a SealLine pack when I got back, and it's been through 5 trips totally dry. Anyone else get burned by bargain outdoor gear that looked good online?

You got burned on a waterproof bag too? I bought this cheap dry sack off Amazon that looked fine in the pictures, but the seam split on day two of a rainy trip and everything inside was soaked. I finally caved and got a Watershed bag, which cost way more, but has kept all my gear dry through way worse weather.

Solidarity all the way @the_holly. Same exact thing happened with a cheap one I grabbed online, now I don't leave home without my Watershed. What kind of trips are you usually taking it on?

Seam split on day two?!" That's brutal, @samwalker and I went through almost the exact same thing with a cheap Amazon bag before we both switched to good ones.
