The $12 phone stand I laughed at is now my main rig
Saw a cheap folding phone stand at a gas station in Reno and figured it'd break in a day. Three months of daily calls and video chats later, it still holds rock solid. Anyone else get burned by a fancy mount that cost 10x more and wobbled like crazy?

Those expensive magnetic mounts with the aluminum arms are total junk. My $20 one from a big box store wobbled from day one. The gas station special does what it’s supposed to, no drama. Price tag means nothing for basic gear. Simple plastic beats fancy metal every time.
