TIL a random guy at a gas station gave me better advice than my dad ever did

I was filling up my van outside of Toledo around 3 AM after a long flooring job, dead tired. An older guy pulled up in a beat up F-150 and asked if I was alright, just from the look on my face. He said 'Mister, the floor don't care how fast you lay it, but your back sure will.' Then he just drove off. Has anyone else had a total stranger drop some wisdom on them out of nowhere?

Man that hit hard, strangers really can see stuff we miss in ourselves.

Oh man, tell me about it. I once had a complete stranger at a coffee shop tell me I looked like I needed a hug and I almost cried right there. Turns out they were right, I was holding onto way too much stuff I didn't even realize was bothering me. It's kind of funny and sad how we walk around thinking we're fine but someone else can see it in two seconds flat. Makes you wonder what else we're missing about ourselves. Honestly, sometimes I wish people would just yell at me with the hard truths instead of waiting for me to figure it out.
