Unpopular take: I actually liked the new burger joint that everyone's hating on

Went to Smash Shack on Elm Street last week. Everyone online says the patties are too thin and the buns fall apart. I don't get the hate. Had a double cheeseburger and it was exactly what I wanted. Juicy, crispy edges, messy. Isn't that the point? The $8 price tag is cheaper than Five Guys too. Am I the only one who doesn't care about structural integrity of a burger?

yo I had the exact same thing happen with a spot called Patty Palace near me. Everyone was trashing their "shoestring" patties saying they disintegrated on the grill but I went in and ordered the double with extra pickles and some hot sauce. The whole thing basically fell apart after two bites, but the crunchy edges and the juicy middle were so worth it. I just grabbed the bottom bun and ate the rest like a gorilla. Honestly the mess is part of the experience at that price point. Maybe the internet just expects burgers to be engineering projects now lol.

Those $8 doubles got me too. I was a total hater based on the pics people posted but walked in last Thursday on a whim. The patty laces are so thin they get that crunchy fried edge I love, and yeah the bun got soggy on the bottom but I just ate it over the wrapper. Totally changed my mind about the whole thin patty trend.
