Can we talk about the time I finally asked my landlord a 'dumb' question about the heat and saved $340
Back in January my radiator was making this knocking sound every 20 minutes and I just dealt with it because I figured it was normal and I'd look silly asking. My neighbor Denise heard it through the wall and told me to just ask the building manager, so I did, and turns out there was air trapped in the line that had been forcing the boiler to run way longer than it needed to. My next two bills dropped by $170 each and I felt like an idiot for waiting three winters. What's something you sat on forever because you thought asking would make you look dumb?
