We were at a house fire in the east end, and the homeowner was standing outside, totally calm, holding his pet goldfish in a plastic bag. He asked me if I could put it in the truck to keep it warm. I did, but I've been thinking about it since. What's the most unexpected thing someone has tried to save from a fire?

Saw a story online about a guy who went back for his vintage vinyl collection. Not just one album, the whole shelf. Firefighters had to stop him from going in a second time. Makes the goldfish seem pretty smart, honestly. Some things just have a value you can't explain.
