Dropped $200 on a premium meal prep service and ended up tossing half of it

I signed up for one of those fancy meal kit delivery services that promised fresh ingredients and chef-designed recipes. Paid $200 for the first month, thinking it would save me time and help me eat better. But by week two, I realized the portions were tiny for the price and half the vegetables arrived wilted or bruised. One chicken breast smelled off right out of the package, so I threw it away. Between the spoiled items and the meals I just couldn't finish, I figure I wasted close to $80. It felt like paying extra to do the grocery shopping and cooking myself, minus the control. Has anyone else tried these services and had better luck, or are they mostly a ripoff for certain types of people?

My friend tried the same thing and said the chicken smelled like a gym sock.

My buddy Dave tried that recipe and said his kitchen smelled like a sweaty wrestler for hours.

God that sucks, I’m really sorry you had that experience. It’s so frustrating when you’re trying to do something good for yourself and it just backfires.
