Random lady at the DMV gave me the best advice I ever got

I was sitting there for like 2 hours waiting for a license renewal. Some older woman next to me said 'just smile at the clerk, they deal with jerks all day.' Worked like magic, got out in 20 minutes. Anyone else get good tips from strangers in weird places?
