Tried giving my cat a 'calming' CBD treat before a vet visit and she spent the whole car ride howling louder than ever

Ended up pulling over twice to check if she was okay, and the vet said some cats just get wired instead of relaxed from those things - has anyone else's pet had a totally backwards reaction to those treats?

Wait, she climbed the curtains? Like all the way up to the top? My cat is 15 pounds and I can't even picture that happening. I gave mine a "chill" treat once and he just started yowling at the wall like it offended him. Vet said the same thing about the opposite reaction, told me to just stick to the Feliway diffuser instead. Honestly makes me wonder how many cats these companies actually tested those things on.

...and then she had the zoomies for three hours straight after the vet, I swear those treats are just cat crack for some of them. My old tabby got so worked up from a calming chew that she climbed the curtains and wouldn't come down. The vet explained it like some cats have the opposite reaction to CBD, kind of like how some people get hyper from coffee instead of relaxed. Honestly I think they're just playing with fire marketing those things as "guaranteed calm" when it clearly backfires for a lot of pets.
