Appreciation post: after 3 months I finally nailed the color on my Orion Nebula shots
I kept getting purple stars and a muddy core until a guy at the local club meeting in Phoenix told me to stop stretching the histogram so hard in my editing. I dialed the exposure back to 90 seconds per sub and stacked 40 of them last Tuesday, and the pink and blue finally look how they do in the books. Does anyone else shoot Orion from a light-polluted yard, and what sub length works for you?
