Appreciation post: I finally tried a dedicated astro camera instead of my DSLR

I was stuck between the ZWO ASI533 and just using my old Canon, but the camera's lower noise in a 2 minute test shot was a total game changer. Anyone have tips for cooling settings on a warm summer night?

Yeah, that noise difference is huge, right? I was shocked too. On warm nights, I just set the cooling to maybe 10-15 below ambient to avoid dew.

But what if a little noise adds character? Felix's friend's grainy photos probably had more mood than perfect clean shots. Sometimes chasing that clear signal just makes things feel sterile.

My friend's old DSLR photos always had that grainy look until he switched last year. It's the same with phones, where better sensors just make everything cleaner without trying. We're all chasing that clear signal in a noisy world now.
