Appreciation post: moon photos that are actually in focus
I spent last month scrolling through this community and noticed a serious pattern. People post these gorgeous night sky shots, but the moon looks like a fuzzy cotton ball. It happened on at least 12 posts last week alone. I get it, phone cameras struggle and I've been there too. But I also shoot with a 10 inch dobsonian and a cheap DSLR, and I can get a crisp crater shot on a decent night. The trick is not maxing out the zoom or relying on auto focus. You have to use manual focus and let the camera settle for a few seconds. Does anyone else notice this trend, or am I just being picky about lunar detail?
