Had to pick between a $200 telescope and a $600 one for my first real astrophotography setup

I went with the cheaper one since I'm just starting out, and honestly the Orion Nebula shot I got last night turned out way better than I expected, has anyone else found that gear matters less than practicing with what you have?

Wait, you mean that $600 scope doesnt just magically take better photos while you sleep? Honestly the difference between a beginner and a pro setup is like the difference between a rusty pickup and a brand new 18-wheeler - yeah the new rig has more bells and whistles but if you cant drive worth a damn youre still gonna end up in a ditch. I spent months with a cheapo 4.5" Dobsonian before I even touched a guided scope and my shots of the Andromeda Galaxy look like I was aiming a potato. But hey, at least I learned why tracking mount matters without dropping a grand first.
