The difference a cheap filter made on my Andromeda shots is unreal

I used to get these washed out, grayish galaxy cores with my old setup. After adding a basic light pollution filter from a local shop in Tucson, the dust lanes popped out like I'd never seen before. Has anyone else had a simple piece of gear completely change their results?

Totally get that "whole new camera" feeling. Sometimes the fix is way simpler than we think.

My buddy had the same thing happen with his old DSLR and a cheap polarizer, it was like a whole new camera.

Yeah, that "whole new camera" feeling... I spent way too long trying to fix bad shots in editing before I realized maybe the problem was my cheap lens.

Been there, swapped a kit lens for a decent prime and it was a total game changer.
