Update: Was skeptical about stacking multiple short exposures for astrophotography, but a commenter on my Andromeda shot showed me how their 3000-frame stack had way less noise than my single 2-minute exposure
They shared their raw vs stacked comparison and the detail in the dust lanes was so much sharper, so I spent last weekend doing 2000 8-second subs of Orion and honestly the result is cleaner than anything I got with long exposures, has anyone else found a good balance between sub length and total integration time?

So you're telling me 2000 shots is easier than one good cup of coffee?

Depends on the person honestly. Some people need that ritual and comfort of a single good cup, others just need caffeine fast and don't want to think about it. Different strokes for different folks, that's all it is.
