Appreciation post: finally realized I was burning through sanding discs way too fast
I used to swap my DA sander discs every other panel because I thought they were toast. Turns out I was just using way too much pressure and clogging them up with melted paint. A buddy at the shop watched me work and pointed it out last Tuesday. Let the tool do the work, right? Anyone else have that 'oh duh' moment with a basic technique?

yo same exact thing happened to me. i was squeezing the life out of my DA and wondering why discs were getting trashed after like 10 mins. soon as i backed off the pressure and let the weight of the tool do the work they stopped clogging and lasted way longer. also switching to a stearated disc helped a ton those things shed the dust way better.

Too much muscle is the source of so many problems in life.
